Introduction

An online store refresh for a homegrown Malaysian fragrance brand, rebuilt around premium product storytelling, stronger product pages, and a faster path to checkout.

Legendary Perfume, one of Malaysia's most recognized homegrown fragrance brands, came to us to rework the experience behind their online store. With products already sitting on shelves in over 50 department stores and airports nationwide, their website needed to match that same level of polish - a digital storefront that felt as premium as the perfume itself, and converted browsers into buyers.

We focused on three things: a UI that better reflected the brand, product pages built to sell, and a smoother path from "browsing" to "checkout."

Challenges

The existing site was not pulling its weight for a brand already present in over 50 department stores and airports nationwide.

    Generic, off-the-shelf UI. The interface relied on default components that did not reflect Legendary's identity or give the team flexibility to showcase new collections the way they wanted.

    Product pages were not built to convert. Key product information was easy to miss, and the layout did not guide visitors toward a purchase decision - costing the brand sales on its best-performing scents.

    Friction at sign-up. Customers had to create a new account with email and password just to check out, adding an unnecessary step that pushed people to abandon their cart.

What We Did

We rebuilt the storefront around brand control, product-page conversion, and faster checkout.

Custom-built components for full design control

Rather than work within the constraints of a template, we built a custom component library from the ground up. This gave Legendary's team the flexibility to style, rearrange, and extend the site exactly the way their brand needed - without being boxed in by rigid, pre-built UI patterns.

A product page rebuilt around conversion

We redesigned the product page layout to highlight what actually drives a purchase: clear imagery, scent notes, and social proof, placed where customers naturally look first. Every section was structured to move a visitor from curiosity to add to cart with as little friction as possible.

Social login for a faster checkout

We added social login, letting customers sign in with accounts they already use instead of filling out another form. It is a small change with outsized impact - fewer steps between a customer wanting a product and actually buying it.
